Get started with an introduction to Pingtree navigation:

Adding Users

Enhance the outcome of Pingtree by adding in your team. Pingtree doesn't charge for users so feel free to add as many users as you need to operationalize your account. Get started with adding users in the follow steps:

Steps to add users to Pingtree
  • 1
Navigate to Team Management and click on All Users

In this section you will see a tabbed section that has both All Users and Role Based Access. From this view you will be able to add, modify or block users.

    • While creating users, be sure to put in all of their accurate information for phone number, email, address as these fields will help validate and send transactional email to the user.

Additionally, it is important to select the right Role Based Access for your new user. Selecting the right visibility is key to security and appropriate access.

  • 2
      Add the users details

Click on the top of the section to “Add User” and there will be a slide out that will allow you to add the user’s details. Once you have entered in their details, you can select the right role and save.

    • You now have a new user added to your account and they will get an email.

  • 3
      New user receives email

Ask your user to accept the email they receive and they will then have access to their account and can begin to be productive in Pingtree.

Role Based Access

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is a method of regulating access to computer or network resources based on the roles of individual users within an enterprise.

Instead of assigning permissions directly to individual users, users are assigned to roles, and roles are assigned the permissions necessary to perform the functions of that role. This simplifies administration and improves security.

Here's how it works:

Roles: A role is a collection of permissions that are associated with a particular job function (e.g., accountant, sales representative, system administrator).

Permissions: Permissions define what a user can do within the system (e.g., read files, create accounts, approve transactions).

Users: Individuals are assigned to one or more roles based on their responsibilities.

Instead of assigning permissions directly to individual users, users are assigned to roles, and roles are assigned the permissions necessary to perform the functions of that role. This simplifies administration and improves security.

RBAC is crucial for maintaining robust security in software platforms because it:

Reduces human error: By centralizing permission management, RBAC minimizes the risk of individuals being granted excessive or inappropriate access rights.

Limits access: Users only have the permissions necessary to perform their job duties, preventing unauthorized access to sensitive data or functionalities.

Simplifies auditing: RBAC makes it easier to track user activity and identify potential security breaches.

Enforces the principle of least privilege: This security principle dictates that users should only have the minimal level of access required to do their jobs. RBAC helps enforce this principle effectively.

Improves compliance: RBAC helps organizations meet regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data security and access control.

Campaign Visibility

Beyond the addition of users and setting up your Role Based Access, you will need to add in users to each campaign you would like them to see. This is a very easy process and inside your campaign you will simply drag the available users into the active section for them to see and work within the campaign.

Campaign Overview

This video will help you get the basics of how the campaign works, what each tab is used for and how to find common information in your campaign.

Campaign Creation

Creating a campaign is easy and only takes a few minutes. To begin follow these quick steps to build your very first campaign:

Steps to create your first campaign
  • 1
Navigate to All Campaigns menu items and click on Create Campaign

This will bring you to the guided setup to create your campaign.

    • Campaign Name. You can name the campaign anything you like that describes the property, vertical or lead generation goal.

Category. Select a vertical that you are intending to use. This will help customize the field set that comes with that vertical and reduce unnecessary fields.

Keyword. The keyword is meant for those who run many campaigns and needs to group campaigns in reporting. For example you might have “Digital” and “Direct Mail” campaigns. By naming them you can pull them into separate reports later that analyze multiple campaigns.

Description. This will help other users understand the purpose or objective of the campaign.

Source Setting. This will establish an initial source database for the campaign. We recommend you name this something such as “Internal” or a conversion that is default named.

  • 2
      Select your user visibility

CIn this step you will now select your available users to be able to access and operate the campaign.

    • After this setup you have completed an initial campaign creation and can now begin to build and work on your campaign.

Campaign Structure

Pingtree has created a campaign structure that can be read from left to right in respect from where traffic originates to where it will terminate. In other words, your sources are first and your distribution and reporting is last. This will help you keep your mind on the process of acquisition to monetization.

In this video the complete campaign structure is reviewed along with the use, functionality and purpose of each menu item in the campaign view.

Module Overview

Pingtree offers supportive modules and functionality that will support the campaign and allow you to separate some of the logic externally from the campaign view. In the video below the following modules will be covered:

Creative Library. This is where your ingested creatives will be stored and located.

Funnel Builder. All of your landing pages, forms and clicks listings are managed here.

Analytics. To scale faster you need to be able to know your data. Custom reports and data analysis is conducted here in the analytics section.

Database Source. Data storage, lookups, custom fields and more will be managed here and then associated with the campaign.
